St. Francis' baseball game postponed

The St. Francis High baseball team's CIF Southern Section Division II second-round playoff game against Carter was postponed to today because of poor field conditions at Jackie Robinson Field in Pasadena.

The game will be played at 3:15 p.m.

The St. Francis-Carter winner will next face Yucaipa in a quarterfinal game Friday.

Vaquero golf clinics set for summer

Glendale Community College golf instructor Dianne Spangler will hold golf clinics this summer.

The clinics run from 9 a.m. to noon June 26-28, July 10-12, July 17-19 and July 24-46 at the college's golf facility.

The cost is $99 per person and the clinic is open to men and women, ages 15 and up. Each clinic is limited to 15 participants.

Smiley to hold 10th annual hoops camp

Former Crescenta Valley High boys' basketball coach Jim Smiley, who guided the Falcons to their only outright Pacific League title in 2004, will be holding his 10th annual basketball skills camp.

The camp runs from 8 a.m. to noon July 24-28 at Crescenta Valley High.

The cost is $125 per person. Each camper will receive a T-shirt, trophy and skills evaluation.

Zargarian to conduct basketball camp

Crescenta Valley High boys' basketball Coach Shawn Zargarian will run a basketball camp from July 10-14 at the school's gymnasium, 2900 Community Ave., La Crescenta.

The camp is geared for children ages 7-13.

Falcon cheerleading camp to be held

The eighth annual Crescenta Valley Falcon Cheer Camp will run from 9 a.m. to noon June 26-30 at the school's gymnasium, 2900 Community Ave., La Crescenta.

The camp, which is geared for children ages 5-14, will showcase cheer, dance and song and flag skills that will be taught by the school's pep squad and its coaches.

The cost is $150 per person by June 15 and $165 after.

Baseball/Softball clinic to be held

A Scooter Baseball/Softball clinic will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays from Saturday through June 24 at the Glendale High softball field, 1440 Broadway, Glendale. The instruction, which is geared for children ages 4-6, is limited to the first 50 children.
