RALLY FOR BURN SURVIVORS

Firefighters Quest for Burn Survivors, a non-profit organization, brought its annual donation rally through Burbank and Glendale on Friday. Quest traveled through all six Southern California Countries on a campaign to collect financial contributions on behalf of survivors of burn injuries and their families, said Quest public information officer Craig Hammond.

"In the past 10 years we have been able to make a significant impact in the lives of people across the nation and in other countries around the world," Quest founder Thomas Propst said. "We are about helping people in need, in fact every dollar raised in these rallies goes directly to those who need it."

Quest expected to amass more than $145,000 during this year's drive.

COMMUNITY MEETINGS

Two public meetings scheduled next week will provide information about restrictions on commercial and industrial property owners as a result of a more stringent Trip-Based Intensity Measurement Standard.

The new standard would limit the sizes of development projects according to the amount of vehicle traffic the project is expected to produce. The city hopes the measure will manage the effects of development on Burbank traffic.

The meetings will be held on June 14 and June 15 at 6:30 p.m. in the Buena Vista Library Community Meeting Room on 300 N. Buena Vista Street.
