Free computer skills class to be offered

Free trial computer classes will be offered at the Burbank Adult School, 3811 W. Allan Ave., Burbank from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Oct. 2-6.

The class covers the basics, including word processing, e-mail and Internet, Windows operation, Excel, PowerPoint and more.

Area residents earn health-field diplomas

Maric College graduates, including some from Glendale and Burbank, earned their diplomas in allied health programs on Thursday at the Glendale Hilton Hotel.

The college's local campus is in North Hollywood.

Glendale and Burbank residents were among the 124 graduates from the North Hollywood campus, which trains students in the allied health fields, such as medical assisting. Glendale resident Akop Karapetyan earned his diploma along with Burbank residents Juan Gonzalez, Edgar Grigoryan and Hanriet Artounian.
