Boy Scouts Verdugo Hills Council has golf tourney
The Verdugo Hills Council of Boys Scouts of America will benefit from the 27th annual Golf Tournament on Dec. 4 at Porter Ranch Country Club.
Registration and continental breakfast begins at 9 a.m. The shotgun start with boxed lunches begins at 11 a.m. and awards ceremony and refreshments begins at 5 p.m.
This year the council has implemented the Service Club Challenge. Local services clubs like Kiwanis, Rotary, Elks and Masons, and others, are making an effort to field foursomes to play in the tournament. Those who have a group of four interested in playing can join the challenge.
The winning foursome will have their names engraved on a plaque to be hung in the Scout headquarters. Individuals can also ask to be part of a foursome and be entered into the challenge.
The usual prizes offered in a scramble tournament will be awarded.
Special guest for the day will be Professional Golf Assn.'s veteran Duffy Waldorf.
