La Providencia Guild has 'Razzle Dazzle' fashion show

La Providencia Guild of Childrens Hospital Los Angeles is getting ready for its 45th annual fundraiser fashion show, "Razzle Dazzle."

The Burbank-based guild was founded July 30, 1947. The group also has an annual spring cotillion and runs a thrift shop on Magnolia Boulevard, all benefiting the hospital. This year's Associates Project is for orthopedic endowments and the new hospital building.

This fashion show event will be on Sunday and is by invitation only. For information, call Tish Sellers, chairwoman, at (818) 848-2928.

Serving as officers this year are Yvonne McMillan, president; Judy Pierce, first vice president; Sue Ann Gordon, second vice president; Rosemarie Witten, secretary; Janet Puchlik, treasurer; and Judy Gragg, public relations.

Verdugo Hills Women's Chorus celebrates 55 years

This year the Verdugo Hills Women's Chorus is celebrating 55 years serving the foothill communities.

The chorus is made up of women of different ages and interests who share the love of singing.

In the foothill communities, the chorus performs at service clubs, churches, retirement residences and convalescent homes.

The chorus welcomes new members. Rehearsals are from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Mondays at La Crescenta Presbyterian Church, 2902 Montrose Ave., La Crescenta. The chorus is not affiliated with the church. Auditions are not required to join.

Boy Scouts Verdugo Hills Council has golf tourney

The Verdugo Hills Council of Boys Scouts of America will benefit from the 27th annual Golf Tournament on Dec. 4 at Porter Ranch Country Club.

Registration and continental breakfast begins at 9 a.m. The shotgun start with boxed lunches begins at 11 a.m. and awards ceremony and refreshments begins at 5 p.m.

This year the council has implemented the Service Club Challenge. Local services clubs like Kiwanis, Rotary, Elks and Masons, and others, are making an effort to field foursomes to play in the tournament. Those who have a group of four interested in playing can join the challenge.

The winning foursome will have their names engraved on a plaque to be hung in the Scout headquarters. Individuals can also ask to be part of a foursome and be entered into the challenge.

The usual prizes offered in a scramble tournament will be awarded.

Special guest for the day will be Professional Golf Assn.'s veteran Duffy Waldorf.
