Congratulations

Maria Balke, a member of Providence St. Joseph Medical Center Guild, has been selected as a volunteer to receive an Angel of the Year award for 2006.

This honor is presented each year to those who exemplify the spirit of dedicated leadership and volunteerism.

Since 1997, Balke has spent hours working on the fundraising events of Providence St. Joseph Medical Center Guild. Balke also volunteers her time in the Spiritual Care Department of the medical center.

The Angels of the Year are selected annually by the Rotary Clubs of Burbank, North Hollywood, Universal City, Studio City and Sherman Oaks.

In addition to the award, a monetary donation was made in Balke's name to the guild.

Balke received her well-deserved honor at an awards reception that was in the Grand Ballroom of the Beverly Garland Holiday Inn in North Hollywood.

Joining Balke on this occasion was her family and fellow guild members.
