Traffic in Burbank — sucks. And it's time to take the bull by the horns (instead of grabbing the other end, like we've been doing). We need a City Council and council candidates who can say the "F" word. Yes, it is time to fire somebody. We don't need a survey. We don't need months of study. We don't have to waste time setting out those silly little hoses and counters along side our busy streets — we need to fire someone, and we need to do it now. This isn't rocket science. This isn't splitting the atom. This is simply good management. We have a city employee who hasn't done his job and we need to give him his walking papers, no hard feelings, best of luck.

Is there not a single City Council member or candidate who can come to terms with the stark reality of the issue? Don't hold your breath.

Medicare akin to governor's plan

Luella Noonan wrote that she was against the governor's health plan as it sounds like socialized medicine and she believes the country does not need that ("Governor's plan sounds like socialism," Mailbag, Jan. 27).

Noonan must plan on never accepting Medicare. Just look at how that has ruined our country.
