Proposed charter changes stir voters

"Reducing that takes away a protection, because you have to be able to justify to four out of five people that this is worthy of being spent," O'Neal said.

Measure G — Overall charter revisions

Passage of Measure G would approve changes throughout the document that are not contained in the other measures on the ballot, City Atty. Dennis Barlow said. Many of those changes are minor, such as cleaning up of archaic language.

Other items include outlining the duties of the Police Commission, an oversight body, and decreasing the number of times the council is required to meet from every week to twice per month.
