Burbank On Parade begins at 11 a.m. and will travel east along Olive Avenue from Keystone to Lomita streets.

The Burbank-Valley Garden Club will mark its 50th anniversary with a celebration from 1 to 4 p.m. at Campo de Cahuenga, 3919 Lankershim Blvd., North Hollywood. The event will feature 1950s music, dancing by the John Burroughs High School Dance Assn., food, raffle and plant tables. Los Angeles Councilman Tom LaBonge will present a commemorative certificate to the club and longtime members will be honored. Call (818) 848-0313.

The Providence High School's production of "Little Shop of Horrors" will end with a performance at 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. at the Providence High School Auditorium, 511 S. Buena Vista St., Burbank. There will be an additional performance at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for students and $5 for seniors, guests with special needs and children under seven. Baskin-Robbins will host a 31-Cent Scoop Night from 5 to 10 p.m. at the Burbank stores at 109 E. Alameda Ave., 4314 W. Magnolia Blvd., 1201 S. Victory Blvd., and 2404 W. Victory Blvd. Baskin-Robbins will support local firefighting heroes by making a $100,000 donation to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, an organization that honors America's fallen fire heroes and their families. The National Day of Prayer, designated the first Thursday of May each year, will be celebrated from noon to 1 p.m. at Valley Baptist Church, 2201 W. Alameda Ave., Burbank. The 19th annual Glendale Community College Alumni Awards Banquet begins at 6 p.m. at the Oakmont Country Club, 3100 Country Club Drive, Glendale. Paul Locker will be given the Raymond D. Edwards Award of Merit for Career Achievement and Community Service. Karen Sartoris will receive the J. Walter Smith Award for Distinguished Service to GCC.
