John Burroughs High School Vocal Music Assn. will present its Spring Concert at 7 p.m. at the Luther Middle School Auditorium, 3700 W. Jeffries Ave., Burbank. This concert includes classical performances by Burroughs' Chamber Choir, Madrigals, Sound Waves and Decibelles, under the direction of Brendan Jennings, as well as the final performances of their 2007 Show Choir sets. The Burbank Armenian National Committee of America will honor Burbank Police Chief Tom Hoefel and Garo Hovassapian, a mountain climber, at 8 p.m. during its second annual banquet at La Bella Banquet Hall, 237 E. Olive Ave., Burbank. Hoefel will be recognized for his efforts in working with the Armenian community and Hovassapian will receive an award for recently climbing Mt. Ararat. The Burbank African Violet Society will have "A Violet Concerto" its first juried show and sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Descanso Gardens, 1418 Descanso Drive, La CaƱada Flintridge.
