BURBANK YOUTH WIN AT MATH FIELD DAY

The Los Angeles County Math Field Day was held at John Burroughs High School on June 2. The Burbank Unified School District sent teams of four students from fourth through eighth grade to participate. The Burbank team was composed of the top math students of all the elementary and middle schools in Burbank Unified. These students demonstrated a strong command of mathematical skills in their grade levels.

The competition consisted of students from 26 school districts throughout the Los Angeles area. Bronze, silver and gold medals were awarded to the top teams in each grade level in three areas — Conceptual Understanding, Problem Solving and Computational Skills. A gold medal for Overall Excellence was also awarded to each grade level.
