Burbank man wins new Toyota Prius

The winner of the 2007 Providence St. Joseph Foundation Golf Classic opportunity drawing, Walter Acuna of Burbank, received the keys to his prize Friday, a brand new Toyota Prius.

The car, valued at more than $22,000, was courtesy of North Hollywood Toyota.

This year's golfing fundraiser ended June 11 and raised $325,000.

The funds will be used to buy radiology oncology equipment for the hospital.

The 2007 fundraiser was the 12th annual tournament in Burbank hospital's history.

Classic cars wanted for contest at park

Aug. 3 is the deadline for applications into the classic car judging contest for Be-Boppin' in the Park night in Burbank's Magnolia Park.

The event, to be held from 3 to 9 p.m. Aug. 11 on Magnolia Boulevard between Hollywood Way and California Street, will include a classic car showing and contest to be judged in five categories.

Awards include The Mayor's Award, Police Chief's Award, Fire Chief's Award, Magnolia Park Partnership Award and The Leno Award.

The registration fee is $25 per vehicle.
