The Indians placed second in their race with a team time of 82 minutes.
Leading the way were Western Nelson, who placed fourth in 15:38, and Andres Carrasco, who was fifth in 15:45. They were followed by Dustin Blankenship (25th; 16:36), Chase Western (43rd; 16:58), Jonathan Alpizar (48th; 17:03), Patrick Strube (50th; 17:04) and Bryce Burton (67th; 17:13).
The Burroughs girls finished 15th in their race, and were paced by Sadee Martinez with a sixth-place finish in 18:38. She was followed by Vivian Ochoa (51st; 20:41), Kerry Hodgins (96th; 21:36), Cristina Perez (107th; 21:52), Kim Andersen (127th; 22:27) and Veronica Eyo (139th; 22:52).
Martinez qualified for state competition last season.
The Burbank boys placed seventh in their race and were paced by Ryan Williams, who was fourth in 15:31. He was followed by Greg Dotson (23rd; 16:10), Adib Younan (36th; 16:32), Anthony Moumjian (54thl 16:48), Jeff Prutz (77th; 17:10), Brent Dell (91st; 17:22) and Alberto Vasquez (107th; 17:43).
The Bulldogs girls’ team placed 12th in its race and its finishers were Victoria Bruner (57th; 20:40), Mandy Songstad (67th; (20:54), Jennifer Velasquez (89th; 21:19), Lindsey Brownstein (102nd; 21:41), Rachel Udall (107th; 21:52), Agnes Kirakosyan (120th; 22:17) and Dorian Poladian (145th; 23:02).
Another team that did well was the Bell-Jeff girls, which placed eighth in their highly competitive divisional sweepstakes race.
Competing without No. 1 runner Gaby Gonzalez (leg injury), the team received fine efforts from Valentina Gonzalez (27th; 22:17), Giovanna Gonzalez (36th; 22:47), Ani Akopyan (44th; 23:48), Stephania Loara (58th; 24:33) and Maddy Longoria-Garcia (59th; 24:37).
“We not only ran against some of the top teams in California, but we had top teams from other states in our race,” Bell-Jeff Coach Mike Morgan said. “It was a very competitive race.
“I would have liked for us to finish a little better, maybe in the top six, but to do as well as we did without Gaby is great.”
Gaby Gonzalez is the defending Santa Fe League individual champion.

Burbank Vikings: Two teams from the tackle program remained undefeated with wins Saturday.
The Junior White (7-0) defeated Calabasas White, 44-6, and Senior Black (7-0) beat the Santa Clarita Valley Redskins, 44-24.
Also getting wins were the Pee-Wees (5-2) against Calabasas Black, 26-22, the Bantum White (2-5) against Simi Blue, 36-8, Junior Black (4-3) in double overtime against Santa Clarita Valley Apaches, 18-12, and Junior Gold (4-3) against Agoura Black, 26-0.
In losing efforts, the Bantum Black (1-6) fell to Canyon Black, 26-0, Bantum Breen (2-4-2) lost to Agoura Blue, 30-8, Senior Green (4-3) lost to Santa Clarita Valley Seminoles, 38-6, and Senior White (3-4) fell to Santa Clarita Valley Warriors, 42-8.
The Junior and Senior teams will have their homecoming games beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday at Burbank High.
