Police seek answers to injury crash

Motorcycle rider under influence of alcohol collided with a utility pole, police say.

BURBANK -- An injury traffic collision at the intersection of San Fernando Boulevard and Delaware Road Saturday left one man in serious condition, police said.

At about 1:15 a.m., Andy Campos, a 20-year old resident of Sun Valley, was riding on his motorcycle south on San Fernando Boulevard near Delaware Road when he lost control and collided with a utility pole, Lt. Ron Caruso said.

Campos was under the influence of alcohol and, as a result of the collision, was thrown from his motorcycle, landing on a bus stop, Caruso said.

Campos, who was not wearing a helmet, was transported to Holy Cross Hospital where he was listed in serious condition. He was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence.

No one else was involved in the collision and the investigation into this incident is ongoing, police said.
