YARD SALE RAISES MORE THAN $2,500 FOR CHARITIES

Keller Williams real estate company hosted “Burbank’s Largest Yard Sale” on Oct. 12, which raised more than $2,500 for KW Cares, Keller Williams’ in house nonprofit organization.

The event was organized by Robin McCary and Karen Volpei, Realtors with Keller Williams World Media Center. It was held in the parking lot of the Burbank Assn. of Realtors office.

More than a dozen Keller Williams agents worked at the yard sale and sold more than 75% of the items, Volpei said. Items including clothing, tools, exercise equipment, books, dishes and jewelry, had been donated by more than 100 agents, with the goal to raise money for KW Cares. KW Cares donates money and volunteer time to local charities throughout the year. Most recently, the Burbank KW Cares Fund donated $5,000 to the Community Service Foundation.

The specific organizations that will benefit from the funds raised has yet to be determined by the KW Cares board members, but Volpei said that family, children and senior services are dear to the hearts of Keller Williams agents, making them likely candidates for donations.
