Music academy holds its first fundraiser

The Burbank Music Academy raised more than $2,000 in ticket sales for their inaugural scholarship program at a benefit concert Friday night.

Students of the rock ’n’ roll music school performed to a packed house along with bands comprising the school’s instructors and some other adults.

Proceeds from the show benefit the academy’s Music for All scholarship, which will provide money for classes and music camps to families that show a financial need. The academy opened in June and has raised more than $50,000 in the last year for Burbank schools with their benefit concerts performed by students.
