CAR CLUB COLLECTS TOYS FOR NEEDY CHILDREN
The Roaders’ Car Club had its annual Christmas Toy Drive Car Show on Dec. 15 at the Hill Street Cafe in Burbank.
There were about 32 cars registered for the show.
Many car show participants and spectators donated toys.
Officer Michael Edwards, of the Burbank Police Department, accepted the toys on behalf of the Burbank Police Officers Assn. and President Mike Parinello.
The toys were donated to the Burbank Police Officers Assn.’s Toys for Tots Program for needy children.
Santa arrived by fire truck and the children present were excited and delighted as he mingled, posed for photos and gave out candy canes. The fire truck was driven by Greg Holleman.
The Roaders Car Club will be moving in 2008. The new location has not yet been identified. Updated information will be placed on the club’s hotline at (818) 246-9928 and also on the website www.clubs.hemmings. com/roaders/.
