The cost of the contract is $7,600 per year, which is taken from the general fund.
E-Rate discounts only apply to $6,600 of that cost.
The district will receive a discount of approximately 54% to 59% depending on the E-Rate discount amount that the district receives.
E-RATE PROJECTS AND DISCOUNTS
The board approved contracts for federal E-Rate projects and discounts, which reduce district costs for telecommunication and Internet usage.
In an attempt to obtain E-Rate funds, the district has put out bids for replacement telephone systems, a video-on-demand system and land area network and data equipment, which areeligible for E-Rate funding.
WHAT IT MEANS
Officials said funds obtained through the E-Rate program could cut the district’s telecommunications and Internet costs by between 50% and 60%.
FIELD PROJECT DONATION THRESHOLDS
The board approved donation thresholds to help cover a $1-million shortfall for new athletic fields at Burbank and John Burroughs high schools. The Athletic Fundraising Campaign Committee kicked off the fundraiser in November.
The board’s decision sets the amounts that donors will be recognized for on the donor wall.
WHAT IT MEANS
The donation thresholds are $500, $1,000, $5,000, $10,000, $15,000 and $25,000.
The names of donors will be inscribed on the exterior wall of the new monument at Memorial Field according to the amount.
