BURBANK — Police are expected to bring a murder allegation to prosecutors Friday against a man who allegedly stabbed a 47-year-old Burbank resident.
Police continue to withhold the name of the suspect, citing concerns that identifying the man would compromise the ongoing investigation, Burbank Sgt. Travis Irving said.
“There is still a lot of investigating to do,” Travis said, “and the detectives believe that releasing information will jeopardize the case.”
On Tuesday, Glen Giles’ was found dead on the doorstep of a neighbor living across the street in the 3000 block of Joaquin Drive, who sources said is a retired Burbank Police liuetenant.
Irving declined to release more details about the incident, but he did say that the stabbing was not a random act.
“[The suspect] was not a stranger,” he said. “We want people to feel comfortable that there is no murderer roaming the streets.”
Giles’ family declined to comment, but those close to them said a private funeral service will be held soon.
