During 25 years with the studio, Lamers saw the company through changes in distribution of home entertainment and headed the first video rental system in the Netherlands in 1981, according to company officials.

Lamers has also been an anti-piracy advocate, promoting public awareness to thwart piracy in Europe as chairman of a Dutch anti-piracy committee.

Burbank credit union recognized as No. 1

Burbank-based Lockheed Federal Credit Union was ranked No. 1 in the medium-sized business category of the “California’s Best Places to Work” program for 2007.

The announcement came Friday at a ceremony at the Beverly Hills Hotel, sponsored by the Employers Group, an independent employer and human resources advocate.

The credit union was considered along with 400 other companies, which were scored based on responses to surveys that covered work-life balance, turnover employee voice and workplace culture and community involvement.
