Others who were presented with checks included Carry Briggs who serves as the president of the Burbank Historical Society, Burbank Aviation Museum President Les Coupland, Boys and Girls Club Executive Director Shanna Vaughan, Joslyn Adult Center Director Gail Migden, Terra Del Sol Director of Development Gail Peters, Burbank High School auto shop teacher Manuel Lopez, John Burroughs High School Jazz Band President Cherie Fryman, and Rose Sliepka of the Dog Tags for Soldiers Kids Project.
From the hot rod roads up to the natural trails of our hillside, this past Friday evening saw the Stough Canyon Nature Center officials celebrate their seventh anniversary by presenting the annual volunteer recognition dinner.
Staged in the exhibit hall of their facility nestled in the Verdugo Mountains, the event drew supporters and volunteers who had the opportunity to get up close and personal with live snakes, tarantulas, lizards, iguanas, frogs and other exotic reptiles and amphibians provided by animal handler Joe Martin.
