Burbank alumni softball game set

The Burbank High softball program is inviting former Bulldogs players to participate in its annual alumni game.

The game will take place at 6 p.m. April 12 at McCambridge Park Field No. 2.

Along with the game, which will pit the Burbank varsity against the alumni squad, there will also be refreshments, food and prizes.

Any former players who played at Burbank High are invited to participate. The event is free to fans.

Burbank Vikings sign-ups slated

The Burbank Vikings Youth Tackle Football program is already getting ready for its fall season.

The organization will be holding sign-ups for its football and cheerleader programs from 8 a.m. to noon April 5 at Burbank High (902. N. Third St.) near the school’s gym.

Spots are open for players and cheerleaders for the program, however, some teams fill up fast. The teams are open to boys and girls 7-14.

The Vikings’ organization has developed players who have gone on to success in high school, college and the NFL. Teams even have a chance to compete in playoff games with a chance to play in a super bowl.

There is also an annual homecoming.

Athletes play on age-and weight-specific teams.

The Vikings squads will compete against programs from other cities in conference games, with home contests played Saturdays at Burbank High.

In addition to signing up players and cheerleaders, the Vikings are also in need of coaches. For more information, visit
