CABRINI LITERARY GUILD HONORS STUDENT WRITERS
The Cabrini Literary Guild will honor its Creative Writing Contest winners at its meeting on April 10 at the Oakmont Country Club in Glendale.
The writing contest is open to all Catholic high school sophomores, juniors and seniors in the Los Angeles Archdiocese. Scholarships are awarded to the top five winning entries in both fiction and nonfiction categories. The awards chairwoman is Rosa Hohman. Marie Urrutia, president of the guild, and board members will greet the winners, families and guests at this function.
The writing awards are one of the primary reasons the Cabrini Literary Guild was formed. The annual fundraiser in March is held to generate funds for scholarships as well as donations to many local philanthropies including Catholic Charities Loaves and Fishes in Glendale, Glendale Public Library Literacy program and the Glendale Community Foundation, among others.
