Creation Entertainment will host its 16th annual Grand Slam XVI: The Sci-Fi Summit from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Burbank Airport Marriott Hotel, 2500 N. Hollywood Way, Burbank. There will celebrities from “Star Trek,” “Heroes,” “Smallville” and more. Leonard Nimoy (Mr. Spock from Classic “Star Trek”) and Zachary Quinto (Mr. Spock in the new Star Trek film) will attend. Admission is $25. 168 Hour Film Festival continues from 10 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. today at the Alex Theatre, 216 N. Brand Blvd., Glendale. Aspiring filmmakers have randomly selected a Bible verse and are given 168 hours or one week to make a film based on the verse. The Burbank Philharmonic Orchestra presents “Music for the Family” with a hands-on experience with classical musical instruments provided by Pedersen’s Band and Orchestra in Burbank and student photography exhibition beginning at 6:30 p.m. and concert at 7:30 p.m. at the Hall of Liberty, Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills, 6300 Forest Lawn Drive, Los Angeles.
