The citizens have voiced their opinions, what more do we need?
I think the Federal Aviation Administration is your typical federal agency that will chase its tail resulting in no improvements and no solution, ending up where we left off and just delaying what we already know or decided.

Some good words for work city is doing
Regarding the June 18 article “City targets shopping district,” I wanted to say that this article makes me proud to live in Burbank.
I drive past San Fernando Boulevard every day on my way to and from work, and had definitely taken notice of the improvements made there.
I was curious as to how this was being funded, but decided that even if it were my tax dollars, I was proud that our city was updating our popular downtown, and was very pleased with the look they chose.
So you can imagine, I was pleasantly surprised to read in that article that it was the property taxes from the business association members that paid for this needed improvement.
These changes to downtown have brought the look up to date, and on par with some of the new shopping centers built in neighboring towns.
Between that and the smoking ban, downtown Burbank is now a clean and beautiful place to dine or shop.
I live within walking distance of downtown, and it plays a large part in why I choose to live here.
We are so lucky to have such a quaint area to call our own, and I want to say “way to go” to the business organization for keeping it looking fresh and new.
I will gladly continue to give you my business and to recommend downtown Burbank to any area visitors.

Take down garish signs in downtown
My husband and I moved to Burbank in October 2006, from beautiful Santa Barbara, to be with our extended family. We live on East Angeleno Avenue near San Fernando.
The things that have been done to beautify downtown Burbank have made quite an improvement; the beautiful center dividers, lights, planters and benches between Verdugo and Alameda avenues; the new low walls and planters between East Angeleno and Magnolia avenue, all have made a big difference in just the past year.
