IKEA will honor its Swedish heritage and celebrate the U.S. release of “Mama Mia! The Movie” with an in-store movie ticket giveaway and karaoke sing-along from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at IKEA Burbank, 600 N. San Fernando Blvd., Burbank. Customers who participate during this time will receive two free tickets to a local pre-screening of the film for IKEA customers while supplies last. The event is not a singing contest and everyone who participates in the Karaoke activity is a winner. Also, if participants show up wearing wedding garb they can enter to win $100, $50 and $25 IKEA gift cards. The Design Chapter of the Southern California section of the American Ceramic Society will have its “President’s Show” opening today at the Burbank Creative Arts Center, 1100 W. Clark Ave., Burbank. An artists’ reception will be from 7 to 9 p.m. July 11. The organization began in 1945 and is made up of studio and production potters, sculptors, teachers, students and ceramic designers. A “Past Presidents Exhibit” will be displayed in a designated area. During the reception, past president members will award a prize for their favorite work. Hours are Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. For more information, call (818) 238-5397.

Glendale Quilt Guild will meet at 7 p.m., following social hour at 6:30 p.m., at the Glendale Central Library, 222 E. Harvard St., Glendale. The group meets every second Wednesday of each month and the meetings are free to members. The fee for nonmembers is $5.
