Indians get two wins in summer soccer

The Burroughs High boys’ soccer team has played well during early summer league matches

Wednesday, the Indians came from behind to score two late goals in a 4-3 win against Monrovia at Luther Burbank Middle School.

Ozzie Rosas scored two goals and Derek Olson and Luis Felix each scored one to pace the win for Burroughs (2-0-1).

The Indians scored the match-winner with less than five minutes remaining when Andre Navarro made a nice tackle in the middle of the field and quickly found Luis Felix, who beat one defender and shot the ball into the net.

Monday, the Indians played well in a 4-2 win against Monroe at Luther.

Felix scored on a penalty kick and Rosas scored on a header to give the Indians a 2-0 lead.

After giving up two goals, the Indians fought back. With less than 10 minutes left, Felix beat two defenders and scored to give the Indians a one-goal cushion. A few minutes later, Rosas scored his second goal.
