TOURNAMENT OF ROSES RAISES FUNDS WITH BREAKFAST

The Burbank Tournament of Roses Assn. will have its sixth annual Pancake Breakfast fundraiser from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday in the parking lot of Tyerman’s Automotive, 1420 W. Magnolia Blvd., Burbank.

Breakfast tickets are $5 each and can be purchased in advance at Burbank’s float construction barn at 123 W. Olive Ave (adjacent to the MetroLink parking lot). Tickets will also be sold at the breakfast.

Burbank Kiwanis For Fun will again be cooking pancakes and will be assisted by the Aktion Club. The mothers and daughters of the National Charity League, Burbank Chapter, will lend assistance wherever needed. As a special October treat, there will be pumpkin pancakes along with the traditional ones.

Visitors can purchase chances to win two reserved seats in the grand stands at Pasadena’s Rose Parade. Opportunity Drawing tickets are $5 each or three for $10. Several “mini-raffles” will feature products and gift certificates from local businesses and restaurants. Tickets for the mini-raffles will be available at the breakfast.

Visitors to the barn can see how the 2009 float “3D Double Feature” is progressing and buy a few tickets.

UNIVERSITY WOMEN VISIT ‘MAVERICK ART’ DISPLAY

Burbank University Women will meet at noon Thursday at the Golden Spur Cafe at the Autry National Center-Museum of the American West, 4700 Western Heritage Way, Los Angeles.

After lunch, the women will tour the museum now featuring “Maverick Art.” Museum entrance fee is $4.50. Call Jane Mulder (818) 848-3764 for more information or reservations.

WATERCOLOR WASH AND INK DEMONSTRATION SET

The Burbank Art Assn. will host a watercolor wash and ink demonstration by artist JoAnn Formia from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Oct. 15 at 301 E. Olive Ave., Room 102, Burbank.

There will be a raffle of the painting from Formia’s demonstration. The money raised from raffles is used to help fund annual awards to art students from Burbank High Schools.

The Burbank Art Assn. will also host an educational presentation on Gamblin Oil Colors presented by nationally known artist and author, Glenn Brill, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Oct. 22 at 301 E. Olive Ave., Burbank, Room 102.
