St. Finbar Church offers flu shots

The Health Ministry of St. Finbar Church is sponsoring a free flu vaccination clinic from 9 a.m. to noon Nov. 2 in the School Library, 2110 W. Olive Ave. Enter at the Keystone Street gate.

Free vaccinations will be available for Individuals 50 years old and older; all children 6 months to 18 years old; anyone who has a chronic medical condition, like diabetes, lung or heart disease, etc.; all women who will be pregnant during the flu season; household contacts and care-givers of children from birth to 5 years old; household contacts and care-givers of adults older than 50 or anyone with a chronic medical condition; healthcare workers

Doctor provides flu shots at center

The Burbank Temporary Aid Center is making free flu shots available for homeless and low-income Burbank residents from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday and 10 a.m. to noon Thursday. The vaccinations are being provided by local physician Dr. Kim M. Reyes. This is the third year Reyes has provided flu shots through BTAC.

Flu shots are generally recommend for the elderly, the very young and for those whose frail health makes contracting the flu more dangerous.

Appointments are suggested but not required. The number of flu shots available is limited, and although priority will go to current BTAC clients, being a current client is not required.
