WHAT IT MEANS
Pacific Park will have a memorial in honor of Maxam, likely in the form of a flagpole and a plaque. The proposed amount of $25,000 will be revisited by the council at a later date.

WHAT IT MEANS
The renovation of the McCambridge pool by Condor Inc. will begin in mid-February. It will take 60 days, and the pool will open in time for summer.

SEISMIC RETROFITTING
The council accepted approximately $670,000 in federal grant money from the California Office of Emergency Services to seismically retrofit McCambridge Recreation Center.
WHAT IT MEANS
The contract to retrofit McCambridge Recreation Center is scheduled to go to bid in May for an estimated cost of approximately $1.65 million. The city will be reimbursed with the federal grant money when the renovation is completed.

COUNCIL SALARY
The council unanimously voted not to decrease or increase its salary by $50 a month per member, which would have resulted in a difference of approximately $3,200 in this year’s city budget. The salary is reviewed once a year by the staff and was brought forward now because of the current poor economy.
WHAT IT MEANS
The council will wait until May to review its members’ salaries. They have the option to change it by 5% each year.
