RESTAURANT PARKING REVIEW
The City Council on Tuesday will review possible changes to restaurant parking requirements, specifically those in the Magnolia Park District.
The Burbank Municipal Code requires that restaurants provide 10 off-street parking spaces per 1,000 square feet of total floor area.
The mandate doesn’t take into consideration the size of the eatery and is significantly higher than the requirement for retail and office uses.
The average size of a Magnolia Park restaurant is between 1,500 and 2,000 square feet, according to a city report.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The council will study the situation and direct staff to either file the report or will provide further direction.
