Girls’ volleyball camp offered next month

Female players wishing to improve their volleyball skills can do so at the Volleyball Players Camp.

The camp will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 13-17 and July 20-24 at Bellarmine-Jefferson High. The cost is $95 for one session or $175 for both sessions.

The camp is open to girls who will be in fourth-eighth grades in the fall.

Athletes will learn basic and advanced volleyball skills.Athletes should wear appropriate sport clothing. A snack bar will also be open or athletes can bring their own liquids or snacks.


The camp is headed by Bell-Jeff graduates and coaches Miguel Segura and Debbie Segura-Mariscal, who have coached successful teams at St. Robert Bellarmine and Bell-Jeff.

The camps are run independantly and are not associated with Bell-Jeff.

Arrowhead Club golf tourney planned

The Burroughs High Arrowhead Club is holding a fund-raising golf tournament June 12th at De Bell Golf Club on the three-par course.

The event sponsors are still looking for tee and hole sponsors and encouraging all alumni to take part.

Individual and team play is available. There will be shotgun starts every 90 minutes from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and golfers can choose their starting time.

The cost is $25 for adults and $15 for children under 18.
