Service Clubs:

Optimist Youth Homes & Family Services also operates group and transitional homes in Los Angeles, Orange and Riverside counties, a foster care and adoption agency, and provides mental health programs to community members throughout Southern California.

The Burbank Magnolia Park Optimist Club is one of the leading supporters of the home. Bertrand is a retired principal of Burbank High School. He has been vice president of the board for the past four years and has served as a member for 20 years. He has also been chairman of the Burbank Sister Committee and is a volunteer at Providence St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank.

The Burbank Magnolia Park Optimist Club meets at 6 p.m. the first and third Thursdays of the month at the Burbank Elks Lodge, 2232 N. Hollywood Way, Burbank.

FASHION SHOW COMING UP

Just a reminder that the “Lights, Camera, Aktion in Fashion!” fashion show honoring Councilman Dave Golonski and hosted by the Kiwanis Aktion Club members will be Aug. 22 at the Burbank Masonic Temple, 406 Irving Drive, Burbank. Social hour starts at 11 a.m. with lunch at noon.

With the financial difficulties our state is experiencing all our community services are suffering. All the proceeds of the fashion show will benefit BCR “a place to grow.”
