Filming was quite exhausting, Zapp said.
“I did my own stunts — running, falling and had to have things put in my eyes,” she said. “I’m up for the challenge. I did everything Alex asked of me.”
Bram agreed.
“I made her run around the neighborhood the house was in, and when she got done, she was sweaty and that’s when we started filming,” Bram said.
Strictly a working relationship, the duo worked well together. Zapp said she hopes to make more films with Bram.
“The horror genre has been my career since I can remember,” she said. “There are highs and lows in the industry, but I found a great love in the genre and I like to work with Alex. I think we can do wonderful things together.”
Zapp is currently on the TV show “Criminal Minds” and will be on “Desperate Housewives during the next few weeks, she said. She also will be mistress of ceremonies for “The World Horror Convention” in Brighton, England, in 2010.
“Body of Work” was shot at actress Vera Miles home in Calabasas, said Studio City resident Bram. A Glendale home was used for interior shots.
Miles was in Alfred Hitchcock’s “Psycho” and added to what Bram was trying to create in the film, he said.
“It was made in the spirit of the new ‘retro-horror’ movement, which pays tribute to the craft of Stanley Kubrick, Alfred Hitchcock and John Carpenter,” Bram said.
He plans to enter the film in other film festivals and hopes to make it available on amazon.com, iTunes and Cinema Now. He also wants to continue making films in the horror genre.
Bram co-wrote “Body of Work” with Shayla Beesley. Beesley was the lead actress in After Dark Films’ “Perkins 14” and has also starred in “Sex and the USA” and “Trophy.”
