Bellarmine-Jefferson d. Chatsworth: 25-19, 25-13, 21-25, 25-15: The Guards were able to notch a nonleague win on the road with the victory Tuesday.
Jocelyn Cervantes had 12 kills and 14 assists and Breanna Pedron had six kills, 12 assists, six aces and nine digs for Bell-Jeff.
Burbank d. Hoover: 25-9, 25-3, 25-19: The Bulldogs had little trouble dispensing the Tornadoes on Tuesday in a Pacific League match at home.
Iris Mora had nine kills and four aces, Narine Kirakosyan had four kills and five aces and Danielle Reid and Reilly Brennan had three kills each for Burbank.
Arcadia d. Burroughs, 25-18, 19-25, 25-14, 22-25, 15-11: The Indians played well but came up a little short against the Pacific League-leading Apaches Tuesday in a match on the road.
Kathy Henry came up big for Burroughs, tallying 23 kills. Teammates Megan Stephenson and Jessika Diaz had 12 kills each, Amy Clarke had 44 assists and Traci Hamanaka had 34 digs.
FOOTBALL
Burbank Vikings: Five of the local youth tackle teams were able to win their games Oct. 24 in the seventh week of play.
Leading the way was the Bantum Green (4-3), which pounded Calabasas Silver, 50-0. Another squad to score 50 or more points was the Senior Black (3-4), which beat up on Hueneme, 54-26.
Also picking up victories were the Pee-Wees (5-1), which defeated Agoura, 28-14, the Midget Gold (6-1), which shut out Calabasas Black, 18-0, and the Junior Green (6-1), which also earned a shutout against Santa Clarita Redskins, 16-0.
Suffering losses were the Bantam Black (1-6), which fell to Ventura Black, 28-12, the Midget Green (2-5), which was defeated by Agoura Blue, 52-40, the Junior Black (3-4), which lost to Santa Clarita Warriors, 16-8, and the Senior White (5-2), which was beat by Canyon Green, 40-14.
