WINTER BREAK

Four volunteers are needed each week to help with activities for the Winter Break Drop-In Activities involving arts, sports and cooking for children ages 5 to 10. Prospective volunteers must have previous volunteer experience working with children or have completed the Counselor in Training program. The first week is from Dec. 21 to 23 while the second week is from Dec. 28 to 31. Hours are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a one-hour lunch break. The location is Ovrom Community Center, 601 S. MAYOR’S TREE LIGHTING CEREMONY

Volunteers are need for helping with crowd control, monitoring the pictures with Santa line and assisting with give-aways from 5 to 9 p.m. Dec. 1 at City Hall, 275 E. Olive Ave., Burbank. For more information, call (818) 238-5319.

CITY’S BREAKFAST WITH SANTA

Volunteers are needed to assist with set-up and break-down for Breakfast with Santa from 8 to 11 a.m. Dec. 12 at the Burbank Town Center Food Court. Volunteers will serve food and help youngsters with craft projects. For more information, call (818) 238-5319.

SALVATION ARMY CHRISTMAS PROJECTS

The Salvation Army, Burbank Corps, is seeking volunteer “Angels” to sign up for the Angel Tree program.

A Christmas Tree will be placed in the Burbank Town Center, on the Third Floor outside of Macy’s starting Nov. 30 through Dec. 23. Two volunteers are assigned two-hour shifts from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. sitting at the tree, to greet donors and collect the toys and/or clothing.

The donor picks a tag and purchases a gift. The tag and gift are returned to the tree location, unwrapped, and the volunteer takes a part of the tag and attaches it to the gift for distribution to the family. Gifts must be returned to the tree before Dec. 23 to be distributed. Families are selected through community centers, social service programs and other organizations.
