Krekorian vacated his seat this month after winning election to the Los Angeles City Council in December.
At least three Democrats and one Republican are vying to replace him. Attorney Mike Gatto, former district director for Rep. Brad Sherman (D-Sherman Oaks), Andrew Westall, who serves as a senior deputy for L.A. Councilman Herb Wesson, and Nayiri Nahabedian, a member of the Glendale Unified School District Board of Education, will be competing as Democratic candidates.
Sundar Ramani, a community activist and former president of the Burbank Chamber of Commerce, is running as a Republican.
The candidate elected to represent the 43rd Assembly District will work on behalf of residents in Burbank and Glendale, as well as the Los Angeles communities of Atwater Village, Los Feliz, North Hollywood, Silver Lake, Toluca Lake, Valley Glen and Van Nuys.
