The Bulldogs lost just two league games, both coming against the Indians.

Pitcher Haley Schulman, despite playing with a sprained thumb, gave Burroughs a huge boost, hurling a one-hitter while striking out 10 and walking four.

In two games over 14 innings against the Bulldogs, Schulman (16-0 and a 0.01 earned-run average) did not allow a run, gave up only three hits and struck out 24.

During the game, Schulman dislocated her thumb after sliding home with the Indians’ fourth run in the fourth inning. Despite the injury, she refused to come out of the game.

After the game, Schulman required medical attention and her thumb was put in a splint.

The Indians struck for two unearned runs in the bottom of the first inning. With one out, Schulman walked and Alexi Buliavac reached on an error. With two outs, both scored on another Bulldog error.

The Indians scored another run in the second inning, as Stephanie Cejudo led off with the first hit of the game, a line-drive single to right field. Gracie Mote followed with a single to center field, advancing Cejudo to second base. Cejudo scored on Santos’s ground out.

In the bottom of the fifth inning with a 3-0 advantage, the Indians got their fourth run when Schulman led off with a single and advanced to second on a Buliavac single. She scored on a single by Rocky Livingstone.

The Indians scored their final run in the bottom of the sixth inning. Mote led off the inning with her second hit and stole second base. She scored from second base on an infield hit by Santos.

The Indians banged out eight hits. Aubrie Bogle had the only extra-base hit of the game, a line drive ripped into left-center field.
