“We played against a very good team and a very good pitcher,” Bell-Jeff Coach Hector Perez said. “But I was very impressed with the way our kids battled.

“We only lose one kid to graduation. We wanted to use this as a learning experience.”

Bell-Jeff trailed just, 4-0, in the third inning.

“I think our youth really showed in the later innings,” Perez said.

Woodbridge 8, Burroughs 3: The Indians’ season came to an end Tuesday in a CIF Southern Section Division II wild-card game on the road.

Burroughs, which placed third in the Pacific League, ends with a 12-15 record.
