Police Report

The following were taken from daily booking reports at the Burbank Police Department.

AREA 1

Sherman Way and Vineland Avenue Following a traffic stop May 23, officers discovered a large metal tank that contained nitrous oxide. The occupants admitted to selling balloons filled with the gas for $5 a hit at a party. Officers arrested Leonel Torres, 21, of North Hills; Francisco Gonzalez, 20, of Sun Valley; Michael Michael, 27, of Panorama City; and Victoria Bolanos, 21, of Northridge.

2200 block of North Buena Vista Street Officers on May 23 arrested two women on suspicion of loitering with the intent to commit prostitution. During a conversation with the man, he allegedly admitted to picking up the women in North Hollywood and was then told to drive to the Quality Inn in Burbank to engage in sex. Officers learned that one of the women had prior arrests for prostitution and possessing narcotics. Felicia Toliver, 27, and Felicia Richardson, 30, both of Hawthorne, were arrested on suspicion of loitering with the intent to commit prostitution.

AREA 2

Southbound I-5 offramp at Burbank Boulevard Authorities on May 23 responded to calls of a man with a rifle walking on the southbound I-5 Freeway offramp at Burbank Boulevard. California Highway Patrol and Burbank police assembled a search team and shutdown the southbound I-5 for 30 minutes.

Officers found the possible suspect in a makeshift living area on the west side of the offramp. The rifle turned out to be a pellet gun. The transient man surrendered the gun to officers and was not arrested. The incident lasted about one hour and involved nine officers, the police helicopter and six highway patrol officers.

North Sixth Street and Irving Drive A 30-year-old gardener on Wednesday was working when he saw a white Chevy Blazer pull up next to his truck. A Latino man got out and unloaded his lawn mower. The gardener confronted the suspects, who then pulled out a handgun and pointed it at the gardener.

The man then backed off and hid behind the bushes. The suspect loaded the lawn mower into the Blazer and drove off down Sixth Street. Officers could not find the suspects.

200 block of East Orange Grove Avenue A Burbank man on May 21 reported that his Chevrolet Suburban was broken into in the public parking structure. Thieves stole a rear chair.

OUT OF AREA Sunland

Police on May 19 arrested two suspected burglars on a tip from a Burbank resident. Jesus Pereyra, 22, of Sun Valley, and Noe Reyna, 23, of North Hollywood, were arrested in Sun Valley after a neighbor noticed a white pickup truck parked in front of her neighbor's house.

Pereyra and Reyna got out and allegedly walked into the backyard. The neighbor grew suspicious because she knew the house was for sale and that no one was home.

A few moments later, she saw the truck drive away with a refrigerator in the bed. The men were later identified by a witness, arrested on suspicion of burglary and booked at the police jail.
