Crescenta Valley now advancees to the Section 2 Tournament on July 17 in Canyon Country.
Crescenta Valley, which suffered a 4-2 loss on Wednesday in the opening game, scored a pair of runs in its half of the fifth Friday to make it 12-8. The game's three umpires agreed to suspend the game a few minutes before the facility's lights went out.
Burbank took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning on a run-scoring single by Aimee Rodriguez. However, Crescenta Valley bounced back with four runs in its half of the frame.
Whitney Craig had a two-run double to make it 2-1 and Marissa Cornelius singled in a run to make it 3-1.
Burbank responded with five runs in the top of the second. Kheanna Mosley had a run-scoring single to give Burbank a 5-4 lead and Rodriguez singled in a run to make it 6-4.
After Crescenta Valley closed to within 6-5 in the second, it then spiked the plate five times in the third to build a 10-6 advantage. Crescenta Valley sent 10 batters to the plate and received back-to-back doubles from Tiffany Briscoe and Kendall Heurkins to cap the scoring in the inning. Burbank responded with two runs in the fifth.
