Waste disposal scheduled for Saturday

From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday at the Burbank Fire Department Training Center, residents can drop off their household hazardous and electronic waste.

The event is presented by the Department of Public Works and the Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County in cooperation with the cities of Burbank, Glendale, Los Angeles and San Fernando.

No business waste, explosives, ammunition, radioactive materials, trash, refrigerators, stoves, washing machines or controlled substances will be accepted, officials announced.

The public is encouraged to bring items in a sturdy container or box, preferably with the original label containers, and to remove all other items from a vehicle's trunk. There is a limit of 15 gallons, or 125 pounds, of hazardous waste per trip.
