Aktion clubs combine for annual picnic

August 21, 2010

The members of the Kiwanis Aktion Club had their second annual picnic with the Pomona Valley Aktion Club and they had a wonderful time. The picnic was held next to Puddingstone Lake at Frank Bonelli Park in San Dimas. It is a very pretty and wonderful place to hold a picnic. This gives the clubs a great opportunity to get together, enjoy each other's company and plan different ways to help their respective communities.

The third annual Aktion Convention will soon be here. They are all excited about this upcoming event that provides them with the experiences such as learning to share, doing projects together, learning from each other and finding out how many ways are available to us all to help each other. The training they receive is outstanding.

The Burbank Aktion Club is still a little short of funds to make it to convention Sept. 10 to 12. With this in mind, the members will be selling lemonade at Burbank's Be-boppin' in the Park in Magnolia Park from 3 to 9 pomp today. They are hoping that while you come out to admire all the beautiful classic cars and "be seen" you will visit their booth and enjoy some of their great lemonade.

All the clubs appear to be, as usual for this time of year, in a "relaxed mood." All of them work very hard throughout the year raising money to help the various organizations they sponsor.
