Comedy benefits youth club
Flappers Comedy Club and the Burbank Boys & Girls Club have teamed up for the grand opening of "Two Milk Minimum" comedy show at 11:30 a.m. Sept 11 at the new comedy club, 102 E Magnolia Blvd., Burbank. The Boys & Girls Club will receive a portion of the proceeds from the grand opening event.
This comedy show for kids and families continues every Saturday and features resident host and emcee Michael Rayner who has performed his comedy juggling show at Six Flags over Georgia, Busch Gardens Tampa and Knotts Berry Farm. His television appearances include, "The Late Show with David Letterman" and "30 Seconds to Fame."
The youth club provides affordable after school, summer, extended day care programs and services covering a wide range of programs.

Battle of Musa Ler commemorated
Mousaler Assn. of California is organizing a two-day remembrance event of the 95th anniversary of the Battle of Musa Ler.
People from the small Armenian villages once located in the Cilician region, now in Turkey were facing extermination during the Armenian Genocide. Villagers climbed atop a local mountain, Musa Ler and fought the advancing Turkish Army for 52 days and were finally saved by a French ship passing by on the Mediterranean Sea.
The commemoration event will be from 6 p.m. to midnight on Sept. 11 and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 12 at Camp Arev, 1701 Darling Ave., Frazier Park. Admission is free.
Saturday activities include cooking of the traditional Harisa, live music and dancing. Sunday activities include a Mass at 10 a.m. and blessing of the Traditional Harisa at 12:30 p.m.
