BURROUGHS VS. HART

WHEN: 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

WHERE: College of the Canyons.

RECORDS: Burroughs is 0-2; Hart is 1-1.

LAST WEEK: Burroughs lost to Canyon, 37-31; Hart lost to Palmdale, 42-7.

OUTLOOK: Burroughs will be taking part in its final nonleague game before opening up Pacific League play Sept 30 at Hoover. The local Indians will have a bye next week. Burroughs was able to play well on offense last week, as Canyon had to score a late touchdown in the fourth quarter to pull out the win. Burroughs received solid offensive performances from senior quarterback Lucas Yanez and senior running back Tadeo Zuniga. Hart has a solid running back in Dylan Edwards, who had nine carries for 48 yards and a touchdown last week. The Hart defense struggled last week, committing eight turnovers.

SOMETHING INTRESTING: The last time Burroughs began the season 0-3 was in 2007 when it fell to Schurr, Harvard-Westlake and St. Francis.

BURBANK VS. SAN GABRIEL

WHEN: 7 p.m. Friday.

WHERE: San Gabriel High.

RECORDS: The Bulldogs are 1-1; the Matadors are 0-2.

LAST WEEK: Burbank lost to Chaminade, 37-6; San Gabriel lost to South Pasadena, 22-9.

OUTLOOK: Like Burroughs, this is Burbank's final nonleague game before it starts Pacific League play Oct. 1 at Muir. The Bulldogs have a bye next week. Burbank will be looking to right the ship after facing a ranked Chaminade team in a loss on the road last week. The team's lone score last week was an 80-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Adam Colman to Jose Rodriguez. The Matadors have had problems stopping opponents this season, as they have given up 68 points in its two losses. San Gabriel is averaging 10.5 points a game on offense.

SOMETHING INTRESTING: Last week's loss dropped Burbank from No. 1 to No. 4 in the CIF Southern Section Southeast Division.
