The Senior Bulldog luncheon is held once a month and is a chance for graduates of Burbank High School to get together.
Sultenfuss graduated from Burbank High School in 1928 and was the class salutatorian and gave the commencement address at graduation. She was president of the Girls Athletic Assn. and Girls League. She was voted most popular by the Key Club.
Sultenfuss married Jim Sultenfuss in 1931 and lived in Atwater and then moved to Glendale where she has continued to live for 70 years.
In 1951 she received her real estate license, followed by a broker's license, which allowed her to opened offices in both Glendale and Burbank. She became the first woman president of the Glendale Board of Realtors in 1968, was named Realtor of the Year in 1977 and given a Life Membership in 1990.
She served on many boards including the Glendale Family Services, Verdugo Mental Health, YMCA and YWCA. She was the charter president of Verdugo Hills Business & Professional Women, president of Soroptimist International of Glendale and a public service commissioner for the city of Glendale.
Family members attending the luncheon were her daughter Julie Sultenfuss Shermer, who graduated from Hoover High School in 1960; Julie's daughters, Kathy Burroughs, a graduate of Glendale High School Class of 1979, and Kimberly Burroughs, a graduate of Glendale High Class of 1982; and Genevieve's other daughter, Audrey Sultenfuss Carr, a graduate of Hoover High School Class of 1956.
Genevieve Sultenfuss' mother lived to 103, her daughter Julie Shermer said.
"She's trying to beat her record," Shermer said.
