Hosted by the Downtown Burbank Partnership, organizers say they want to reduce waste by 75% compared to the previous year with compostable and environmentally friendly eating utensils and recycling stations.
Honor for Cusumano family
The 2010 Woodbury University Movers & Shapers Award will go to the Cusumano family at an awards luncheon Oct. 14 on the campus, 7500 Glenoaks Blvd., Burbank.
Cusumano family members have served on boards for the city, Providence Saint Joseph Foundation, Burbank Unified School District, Burbank Board of Realtors and several other organizations. The Cusumano Family Foundation has supported agencies from the Family Services Agency to the Burbank Police Officers' Association.
Past recipients of the award include Mary Alvord, Gary Olson and Sunder Ramani.

Burbank Leadership seeking applicants
The Burbank Neighborhood Leadership Program is seeking applicants for its six-month program for adults, offering participants the tools to become leaders by learning about Burbank, government, schools, businesses, nonprofits, history and culture.
The free program runs from January 2011 through June 2011. Students commit to attending 10 Saturday classes and group meetings to complete a group project. Transportation is available.

Audrey K, a women's apparel and accessory boutique, has relocated from Glendale to Burbank.
Owner Audrey Robles is a clothing and jewelry designer whose store offers merchandise from local and independent designers, with an eye toward fusing modern and vintage styles.
"As a Burbank resident and with a son at Burbank High School, we wanted to have our business in the town we live in and support," Robles said in a statement.
