Valley Porcelain Artists Club has demonstrator
Freddi Kay was the guest demonstrator at the Valley Porcelain Artists Club on Friday at the Joslyn Adult Center. She showed how to make five-minute roses.
Kay began painting in 1975 in an adult education class. It became a hobby for her that got out of hand, she said. At the time, her husband was an importer of china ware. His friends began to send her pieces of porcelain to show them painted. And so Kay began working from home. Her husband also made her a catalog of her works and their business evolved from there. Today, they own Freddi's China Closet and sell china and supplies to porcelain painters in California.
The club meetings are free and open to public. For more information on upcoming meetings, contact Carol Grese at (818) 906-2509.
