BURROUGHS VS. MUIR

WHEN: 7 p.m. Friday.

WHERE: Muir High.

RECORDS: The Indians are 5-3, 5-0 in league; the Mustangs are 4-4, 3-2.

LAST WEEK: Burroughs defeated Crescenta Valley, 21-14; Muir defeated Glendale, 31-6

OUTLOOK: The Indians had to fight from behind last week to win the game against the Falcons and stay undefeated in the Pacific League. A win this week and a victory Nov. 11 against Burbank will give the Burroughs its second league title in as many years, and its first outright crown since 2006. Burroughs will take on a Muir defense that is second-best in the league, allowing 19 points a game. The Indians have the No. 1 defense, allowing 18.1.

SOMETHING INTERESTING: The Indians moved up to No. 8 in the CIF Southern Section Southeast Division poll.

BURBANK VS. CRESCENTA VALLEY

WHEN: 7 p.m. Friday.

WHERE: Memorial Field (Burroughs High).

RECORDS: The Bulldogs are 6-2, 4-1; the Falcons are 4-4, 2-3.

LAST WEEK: Burbank defeated Pasadena, 45-26; Crescenta Valley lost to Burroughs, 21-14.

OUTLOOK: The Bulldogs kept their Pacific League championship hopes alive with a win last week. A victory against the Falcons and a win Nov. 11 against Burroughs would give the Bulldogs their second-straight title. Burbank has the most potent offense in the league, as it scores 36.5 points a game. In contrast, the Falcons average 28.3 a contest.

SOMETHING INTERESTING: Burbank is ranked No. 10 in this week's CIF Southern Section Southeast poll.
