A 23-year-old Burbank man was killed Saturday afternoon after colliding into another motorcyclist on the westbound I-10 Freeway, officials said.
Kevin Butcher was traveling about 4:25 p.m. on a Ducati motorcycle on the freeway behind a 29-year-old North Hollywood man on a Honda motorcycle, officials said.
The pair was driving at speeds in excess of 90 mph, said Sgt. Denise Joslin, a California Highway Patrol spokeswoman.
At some point, Butcher didn’t see traffic slowing ahead and struck the back of the Honda, Joslin said.
Both motorcyclists were thrown from their bikes, she said.
The force of the collision launched the Ducati into the air and over a vehicle before it hit the ground, Joslin said. The Honda struck a 1999 Acura, whose passengers were not injured.
