Amber Bartmus, Estelle Glorioso and Gian-Mari Llaguno all had big performances for Providence. Bartmus went two for three — including a two-run home run in the third inning. Glorioso was two for four and Llaguno was two for three with a double.
Burroughs, Burbank in 12th annual Burbank Cup: The Indians were able to notch a 12-2 victory in the event April 5 at De Bell Golf Club.
For the second year in a row, Burroughs' Kelsey Danzeisen earned low-medalist honors, firing a 73 in the match-play event. Last season, he won it with a 71.
The Indians captured 11 of the 14 head-to-head contests.
Getting wins for the Indians was Chris Kesicbasia, who bested Brady Dunayer, 77-81, Jeff Lundquist, who defeated Andy Chang, 75-80, Nick Colbert, who defeated Sung Jin Kim, 83-100, Sean White, who beat Blake Newton, 87-95, Taylor Contreras, who bested Ryan Dizon, 89-105, Levi Beckwith, who defeated Kevin Chung, 89-93, Cameron Flannery, who beat Max Lippman, 97-111, Trevor Tilton, who bested Marco Rivera, 97-101, Dylan McNeeley, who defeated Grant Le, 111-135, and Konner Fairman, who beat Greg Kalamdaryan, 103-120.
Burbank got its only win from James Chae, who defeated Burroughs' Sivakorn Losakul, 85-87.
Bulldogs' Ben Park and Alex Rossi earned ties with Burroughs' Brandon Shin and Trent Ordelheide, respectively.
North Ketola shot a 111 and Chris Serio had 114 for the Indians.
TRACK AND FIELD
Burbank vs. Muir: The Bulldogs came out on top in both portions of the Pacific League meet April 6 on the road, as the boys won, 81-55, and the girls were victorious, 116-19.
The Burbank girls' team got a big boost from Hannah Barlow, who won three events. Along with finishing first in the 100-meter hurdles (18.68 seconds), she also won the 300 hurdles (52.19) and the triple jump (mark not available).
Haley Pirruccello was a double winner in the 400 (1:06.0) and the 200 (27.25), Deborah Yum took the 1,600 (6:14), Felicia Tomitsa won the 100 (12.82), McKenzie Paul won the 800 (2:17), Christina Shamirian won the 3,200 (12:35) and Danielle Reid took the high jump (4 feet 10).
The 4x100 relay team of Stella Lee, Felicia Tomitsa, Keren Zepeda and Harmony Curtis also won (52.82).
On the boys' side, Bernie Corea won the 1,600 (4:44), Isaiah Amos-Nshimba took the 800 (2:01), Sergio Fraire won the 3,200 (10:03), Haibert Sarkisian won the triple jump (mark not available) and Bruce Lee took the shot put (41-6).
